THE 6^th ANNUAL ROYAL TARTAN BALL — Sept 8, 2012

The HIGHLANDERS are currently completely focused on our most important event of the year:  THE 6^th ANNUAL ROYAL TARTAN BALL.  The TARTAN BALL will be held on September 8, 2012 at 6:30 PM in the “Stu” Lang Activities Building.  With its Castle facade on the entrance to the building, “THE BALL” is advertised as “A Kilted, Cocktail Affair, Celtic Style.”  However, it’s really a premium, plush and amazing evening of fun with suits and ties and cocktail dresses certainly acceptable.  Our co-sponsors, the Krewe of Shamrock have diligently assisted us on this delightful event throughout the years as has the entire TARTAN BALL Committee.  This year, this event is going to be the “Best Ever,” so make sure you don’t miss out on this exciting evening.  It’s guaranteed to be your best-night-out of the year!  And just to back up that presumptuous statement, our greatest supporters through all the years we have been hosting the TARTAN BALL have always been your current Potentate, ILL SIR RICH LEGER and LADY TOBY!  We are tremendously indebted to their continued support.  And, we are also expecting several additional members of the Divan and their ladies to be in attendance this year!

To start off the evening at THE TARTAN BALL, we are featuring an EXQUISITE BUFFET catered by “L&L Events,” with appetizers of stuffed mushrooms and meatballs.  The main course will include chicken marsala, vegetarian lasagna, a roast beef carving station, roasted potatoes, vegetables, house salad and dinner rolls.  Dessert will include assorted cakes (chocolate, coconut & vanilla, and also flan).  Coffee, tea and lemonade will be the beverages available.  If you can’t remember hearing about “L&L Events,” they have been doing a fabulous job at the Scottish Rite for a number of years.    In addition, we are offering a “FOUR-HOUR OPEN PREMIUM” BAR catered by our own Egypt Shrine Oasis Lounge.  Top “call-brand” drinks will be available throughout the evening as well as beer and wine.  In addition, our DANCE BAND this year is going to be TROPICAL HEAT, a groovy group, who plays and sings a wide selection of dance music from pop to oldies and goodies; but, no hip hop.  Their dance floor is always full of participants.  We will also have “silent auctions” and “gift basket raffles.”  In addition, we will have a “GRAND PRIZE DRAWING” at the end of the evening which your chance to win is “included with the cost of your ticket.”  And last but not least, we will have a brief appearance by your Egypt Shrine HIGHLANDER Pipe and Drum Band.  A photographer will also be available capturing the evening and providing personal portraits as requested.  The very reasonable cost for this upscale evening is only $70 per person; a very reasonable cost for a “FANTASTIC EVENING.”  For additional information about this event and to ticket purchases, please go to our website, “TAMPABAYTARTAN BALL.COM.”
